Corporate 401(k) Plan Advisory Services

No cost, No obligation
Fairview Financial offers no cost, no obligation comprehensive reviews of 401(k) plans. Our initial information gathering meeting usually takes around 30 minutes, however, because of the complexity of the subject matter and the competitive environment, our presentation of our analysis and our proposal usually runs about 2 hours. From there the level of additional research and comparison is up to you.

Why will we do so much for free?
Because we want you to hire us as your 401(k) plan investment advisor and consultant. We strongly believe that we can fully justify that our negotiable fee is reasonable and prudent and that hiring us as a consultant and your advocate in developing and maintaining the best possible retirement plan for your employees - is the right thing to do. Still, the choice is yours and the initial analysis is always free.

Our Approach
Fairview Financial utilizes a structured yet straight forward approach to analyzing and managing retirement plans. It is not our goal to try to sell you on a glossy packaged solution, even if it does come with a well recognized name. Instead we strive to help your firm move towards the most cost effective and efficient investment structure for your particular needs - and we back up our recommendations with hard facts and solid evidence to support our advice.

The new competitive environment
Typically, small company 401(k) plans are in place because of an existing relationship or because of brand name recognition. Perhaps your bank, your insurance agent, your broker or even your payroll provider introduced your company to your current plan. Or perhaps at some point, someone in your firm responded to solicitations from a company like Fidelity, The Principal or Paychex. Now the new competitive environment provides additional "Open Architecture" solutions which, when compared side by side to your current plan, may prove much less expensive and much more beneficial to your participants' long term retirement goals.

We think it's time for a more analytical approach and would like to offer our services to help you find how competitive your existing plan really is.

  • Are you paying too much for "commodity-type" services?
  • Do your investment options perform well enough to justify their fees?
  • Can your plan offer low cost Vanguard index funds or the very highly rated DFA family of funds?

Some of these questions can be very difficult to answer, especially if you lack the necessary tools. Without answers, you are probably in a situation of having to trust your current provider to act in your best interest. In case you haven't heard - at times, financial services firms do tend to act in ways which may enhance their bottom line - often to the detriment of those they are supposed to represent.

The tools to make it all crystal clear
At Fairview Financial we believe in showing you all of your options. We believe in complete full disclosure of all fees. We want you to always know how your investments are doing relative to their peers. Our approach is substantially different from those who want to sell you something with lots of bells and whistles. To us, the combining of individual participant accounts into a retirement plan is basically a "commodity" type service, which if proven reliable, should be purchased almost exclusively on price (as you would any other commodity). We look at the investment offerings as completely separate from this service and conduct a sophisticated and academically based analysis of all feasible options in order to help you build an investment lineup which makes sense for your participants and not for the bottom line of your bank, your insurance company or your broker.

Most importantly we have the tools to generate the kind of analysis you need to make informed decisions. Our software includes Morningstar's all-inclusive "Office" suite and FI360's state of the art "ToolKit".

Large companies get it all for less and now so can you
The truth is large companies long ago took the time to "look under the hood" and to understand exactly what they were paying and exactly what they were getting. Now even very small plans can take this same approach. It's time for a truly competitive review to see how your plan stacks up. Saving as little as 0.50% per year can make a very substantial difference - when applied over an entire career. We all know that most Americans will have great difficulty retiring with a big enough nest egg. Shouldn't your employees have every possible advantage?
